Friday night Pam and I went to see the Duo in Filthy and hook-up with Diesel, Tim, and Phrazz.

The opening act was a duo called Turbine (currently one of relix's ON THE VERGE bands this month). They were freaking awesome!! One guy was playing what looked like a Gretsch hollow body and the other guy (who was like 5'1) was playing an accoustic and harmonica.. Man could he play that harmonica. Plus, I've never heard auto-wah on a harmonica before that! For just being 2 people, their sound was amazingly full, often, his harmonica sounded like a keyboard. The last song of their set, Marco came up and played along with them, it was great. They played everything from jazzy rock to bluegrassy type stuff. If you have an oppurtunity to see them, I really suggest you check them out.. and keep an eye out for one of their shows... they sound awesome live!!

not bad...checked out the song "Desert Rose" from their website. the first minute and the last minute both vividly recall moments in the Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"...

nobody rocks that hard.... at least you weren't freaked out crying in a corner.... right....

Tim, Turbine will be opening for Brothers Past at the funk box on the 15th... (since you might be going to this anyway.. go early and check these guys out...)

they are such a large sound for 2 people is it

I wouldn't say they're my boys.. saw them the 1st time at the duo in philly... they just really blew me away... I'd say definately go see them...

Also... are you gonna try and make it up here for the free cake/gomez show??? Keep me posted...

is that this saturday? i don't think i'm going to be able to make it...i got tix to see my O's whoop some more yankees ass.

that's straight... just wanted to remind you... enjoy your boring ass baseball game... (incidently.. the little league episode of South Park is now one of my favorites.. .cause i feel the same way... ) I just need to keep thinking.. 2 weeks till the draft and then just roughly 3.5 months till pre-season... so we can whoop on your weak ass ravens.... boooooyyyyyaaaa!
