Doors: 8:00 pm / Show: 9:00 pm

[Aside: Motet is playing at Brooklyn Bowl the same night, with Heavy Pets. I'm gonna try and make it to both, as the bass player of Motet is Garrett Sayers, former bassist for the Miracle Orchestra.]

Guys. It was awesome. Also the largest (and most sold out) concert I've seen them play to date. They seems very pleased to play such a full room. The new songs/arrangements sound way better/thig her than when the played rough trade a few months back. Go Barr Brothers!!!

That was beyond solid... not sure of a setlist but no big surprises. Had a nice spaced out jam in the middle of "Lord I just can't keep from cryin'" with some old Slip tricks like the walkman over the pickups of the guitar. Cool little drum solo/brad standing on top of Andrew's kit too. They were sounding really really good. They had a female backup singer, and the opening act guy Leif and her also provided backups on "Come in the Water", which was a highlight of the show IMO. They broke down the end into a harp jam for a few measures and then brought it home. Really well done and the harp breakdown was surreal sounding and interesting.

that's all for now

OK something else that I can't shake from the show was people singing along to the songs - it was awesome, but I had no idea that was going to happen - it was kind of surreal and awesome. Also, after meeting a few folks at the bar or whatever, few had heard of the slip. I should've asked how the heck they heard about the barrs.
