I should go but it would be much cheaper and easier to go to Narrows and/or NYC.

Oh wow. I probably shouldn't, but I'm pricing airline tickets to SF.

I can't make it to Narrows, which would be easiest one for me to go to. I could go to Brooklyn, but the expenses of going to a show in NY add up fast...

So if I'm going to spend the money to get to a show... a week in SF in January with my cool little nephews and going with my sister to New Years Slip & SMMD shows sounds like too much fun to pass up.

Cleantone, if I find a good deal on airfare, I'll let you know. 8)

A quick glance was showing about $600 for round trip with a layover. I don't even know if that is a good price or not. I don't fly much.

Flying between Christmas and NYE is always a little more expensive than normal, unfortunately. Looks like prices go down a bit by Jan 3rd or 4th. I'm finding some non-stop flights from Boston or NY for under $500 with the return flight coming back mid-week. It's under $400 with 1 stop. That's not too bad considering it's a popular time of year to travel.

Pre NYE SMMD on the east coast count me in see you at the Brooklyn bowl
Thrice you have rescued me from falling grace;
once when I was a beggar and you were the rain on my face,
once when I was crippled and you carried me,
and once when the blindness of others taught me how to see.

does anyone else think $50 for davis/BL is pretty steep? Is that just because Du Nord is not the biggest room?

I'll be at the Narrows fo' sho

I think it is a little steep. I bought the 2-day pass for $60, which seems totally fine to me. I'm guessing the NYE ticket is pricey because of the size of the venue, and the venue may have increased expenses on a big night like NYE.

Yes I think it's a bit of both, Du Nord is a small room for them. I can't remember if they sold it out last time they played there but they have before and certainly at the very least came close and it was the Tuesday after High Sierra. Big Light has actually become a surprisingly big draw here in SF as well. They recently headlined the Independent and brought quite a respectable crowd. I don't think they will have trouble selling it out. Also NYE shows at clubs in San Fran are generally more pricey. Of course the $60 2 day pass is the deal for the fans, who would want to miss The Slip anyway?

I am pretty seriously excited for this!!!! Cleantone you should totally come out...

$50 for a NYE in San Francisco with great music, and no stress or worry about how the night's going to go. I would say that's not too expensive.

I think The Slip at BB Kings a couple years ago was around that price, and it didn't start until 2 a.m.
