yay.
4.23.09 | SUMMER MINI TOUR: LOW EMISSIONS
Almost two years since our last tour, The Slip is coming together in June and July to perform a handful of shows on the east and west coasts. We have been on hiatus, making music in our respective cities, enjoying the detours. There may be additional shows here and there as we begin to craft our next album. Thank you all for your tremendous and endless support. -BAM

This is GREAT news!!! I don't think I'll be able to make any of the East coast shows, it's right between Phish Alpine and High Sierra so I'll have my hands full....

Hopefully it all will be taped! Clinton, are you on board for all of these? In any case tell your friendly tapers, these can't get away!

And more Slip to come... an album!!! Very very happy!!!

How likely are these shows to sell out? (Will advance tickets be avaialble?) I want to do all or most of the run, but it's logically complicated for me to do (coming from Ottawa, Ontario, and lacking a car), so if I invest in the trip, I want to make sure I can get in to all the shows I want to see. (I'd also be bringing a taping rig [Superlux mics > UA-5 > JB3] to record the shows.)

Aloha,
Brad

I would bet advance tix will be available. In December the Paradise sold out so it is a pretty safe bet it will again. Iron Horse is pretty small too. They probably won't sell out right away though I wouldn't wait until the last minute.

I'll be at the 1st two at least. Maybe NYC as well. I am not too jazzed about the Ironhorse. From what I understand the owner is getting more and more anti recording. But it is a fun venue and pretty close to me. I'd like to go to HSMF but I doubt I will. Anyone know how hard it is to get from an airport to HSMF?

According to

Reno Airport is closest, and there's a shuttle service to/from it.

Sucks that the Iron Horse is getting anti-recording. I remember plugging my Casio DAP-100 DAT into their SBD to tape ARU back in '92! I think it was my first board tape.

Yes, cleantone, come to HSMF!!! It is very easy from Reno.

I already have one extra for the paradise show. I know it's ealry but just keep it in mind and message me if you want it.

It will be my first time in Boston. I'm definitely looking forward to it! Hopefully they will add a couple Southern California shows as well.

YAY!!!! Times INFINTY for the Slip comeback!!!!!!
SMMD is great but The Slip is and has been my favorite band now for a while. I'm REALLY happy to know I will be dancing to some good shows on the horizon =)
