Marco with Marc and Andrew in March

Post: # 21507Post harrymcq »

I was just looking at Marco Benevento's website and there are some tourdates up...

Marco Benevento with Marc Friedman and Andrew Barr
3/5/09 River St. Jazz Cafe, Wilkes-Barre PA
3/6/09 Deer Head Inn, Delaware Water Gap, PA

Looks good to me, I hope someone will tape those!

I will be on the wrong coast but I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone... Obviously with our guys Marc and Andrew they will be good, and Marco is always good as well but he is particularly on fire recently. These are not to be missed I hope these will be taped!!!

If I had a couple of grand to drop on recording equipment I would tape the shows.
Of course then it would still sound like crap. As always my hat is off to Cleantone and all of the other tapers who invest so much of their time, money, and skills recording shows for the rest of us.

According to the "Shows" part of

http://www.marcobenevento.com

the Benevento/Mathis/Barr line-up is playing in Montreal on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Le Divan Orange. I'm going to try to be there and record it.

Aloha,
Brad

The Bell House Show

The show at Bell House was out of this world. I recognized a bunch of covers, but I'm pretty new to Marco's catalogue - anyone have a setlist? Or know if it did get taped? Thanks

The 3/5/09 River St. Jazz Cafe, Wilkes-Barre PA show is up on etree.

Check out the cover of 'Heartbeats' by the Knife.

It's a shame that the 3/6/09 show wasn't recorded - there were three sets, Andrew was on fire, and they played two different versions of Real Morning Party.

Brads opening set included set included Beggar in the morning, Sarah Through the Wall, a couple a know but couldn't place and sat least one new song.

Joe came out for two or three tunes and play three toms. My highlight was when Androo and Joe danced around both playing them. Brad sat in on three or four tunes.
