Talk to my MOM who made it for xmas...

Phrazz. AWESOME gallery. Took a while to look at but thanks a bunch for archiving the visuals. We should have brought a video camera for the pinata's and the guitar hero. Oh well...

Hi Phil,

This is a funny feeling, but it will pass. If you don't like your likeness, I can fix that -- just email me and let me know who you are and I'll make sure noone even knew it was you (but you might transmogrify into Uday ;-}).

Magpie,

Pearl St. is ok in terms of sound and lights, but "nice" doesn't necessarily come to mind. It was "better than adequate" for the occasion, but the early curfew, slightly uptight bouncers and dense packing up front did not help my efforts. Only because some excellent friends were there did I really enjoy myself. I've seen worse bouncers (Middle East), but many rooms that I would call "nice" (Yoshi's, Triple Door, even Double Door is "nicer" to me).

I'm picky though, having been to too many venues. When I open my own I will guarantee you will think it's "nice" or I'll refund your ticket and your meal. 8)

Guitar Heroes

Were you at the show? Well, Viva and Marc went tete-a-tete up on the big screen using the machine that Booty hooked up. Sources say Marc won, but Viva still celebrated like the rock star she is. Many other games were played pre-show and post-show at the hotel, courtesy of Torrey and Mark (not Marc, who forgot the game at Torrey's house, fortunate for us! ;-}). I think everyone who came over to the hotel afterwards got their hand at it (except the extremely timid...it's not a cakewalk, even on the easy level). Now between Sapphire and Tonics, the hooked on Phonics and the illustrious Chronic-als of Narnia, we had a pretty wild time all night long. I have the photos from before, during and after, but only if you were there can you see the first and last sets. I think my highest score was around 22,000 or so (paltry compared to even moderate players). I heard Marc got 180,000 or somewhere thereabouts...which means hitting "Star Power" nearly every time and not missing a note every hundred or so -- totally impossible for a human...aliens do much better at these things ;-}).

My statement was vague...on stage he got around 80,000, but his highest score ever was more like 180,000. I think it's a very challenging game, regardless, and if people want to learn some classic rock tunes and have a Playstation, well, you know what to do.
