from jambands.com today:

Slip guitarist Brad Barr has completed his next solo album, The Fall Apartment: Instrumental Guitar. The instrumental collection will arrive via New York’s Tompkins Square label on September 16, featuring a mix of new originals and covers ranging from Cuban musician Ernesto Lecuona’s “Maria La O” to Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box” to Le Trio Ferret’s “Gin Gin.” The album will also feature Barr’s latest batch of originals, including the inspired “Sarah Through The Wall.” The Slip will spend most of the fall on the road backing singer/songwriter Sonya Kitchell.

Awesome! Though I didn't know it was going to be all instrumental, he has so many good ones with lyrics these days, Ooh Belle, Monster, etc...

Yay, I'm looking forward to hearing this!! As Brad is definitely one of the BEST guitarist of all time!

Hopefully, they will have it at the merch table for the Sonya/Slip shows this fall, I would love to get my hands on this one ;}

I also wish that The Slip will be doing an opening set for these Sonya/Slip shows, that would be the coolest!

I was just talking to brad about this, looks like he found a label. "War" is on it as well. I think for now he is saving the lyrical songs (Monster, Devil's Harp etc.) for Super Little - which he is trying to do things like movie soundtracks and stuff with. He's in search of an outlet that gels with the slow pretty folk tunes well...

It was modded. Please don't post links for illegal downloads of any music. Especially from music that a member of The Slip is on. Further still from the small record label that will be putting Brad's album out soon. I hope everyone supports this album when it drops.

i've got a feeling there's going to be a lot of layering and heavily distorted guitar ala the heart shaped box jam in cut from the cloth
