WHAT?

OK since when is lying on the ground with your hands in front of you, and obeying orders considered resisting arrest? This guy was trying to cooperate and attempting to calm down the situation. This cop clearly lost control of everything. Did you read the article too?

That cop is in deep shit right now. It's astounding that he's not in jail.
I think he will be soon, clearly it's the cop's fault...pictures don't lie.
The only thing saving him is it's San Bernadino, and that place has
some pretty major gang problems. That makes cops very trigger happy.
Still, it's not an excuse, maybe just an explanation (cause and effect).
The cop probably had some anger management problems (many do,
so they turn to law enforcement because it gives them illusion of control...
but for the victim, it is no illusion!

The real miracle here is that the guy who got shot even survived.
He's one tough mother...and extremely lucky to boot.

The media frenzy will last weeks (diverts attention from much bigger problems involving guns and human rights). What a wonderful country! What a noble thing is an American? I feel proud to be a legion of thugs and hated by the world. Great diplomatic skills at work on all sides.

That is not sarcasm, that is reality.

Looks like the Chino Sherriff's Department got my letter. Thank god for powerful attorneys and random bystander amateur videos. :) Sometimes Big Brother is on your side. [I can't say the same for traffic light cameras.]

It's still a miracle the poor soldier lived. Just to think he survived unmentionable atrocities in Iraq, didn't get shot, didn't get blown up, didn't get kidnapped (lose your head)...comes back home and *kablammo* is fed some lead by some crazy cop (wild car chases are still no reason to use deadly force...especially after the fact).

I've seen this video a few times and it's pretty clear the cop tells him and motions for him to get up (but I got the sarcasm...it was funny for a heartbeat). That's a rule for everyone: just stay down! ;-} [Also if you are ever asked "What's in the trunk?", the proper answer is almost always not: "my dead mother-in-law".]

Again, thanks Tim...otherwise we'd never hear about this. The cop getting charged is not so sensational, so it gets a footnote instead of national coverage (haven't seen the verdict hit the TV...I'm guessing it won't).

My only question now is: who took the Pullitzer-prize video???
