Hey, this is great, I was always curious how much punk there was in this scene. I didn't know much punk, but was way into the big bands when i was in high school, early nineties. In order, i got into Bad Religion, Operation Ivy, Descendants, (L7), NOFX, some GreenDay, Lagwagon, [I was actually introduced to Lagwagon by some German exchange students. Their drummer recently killed himself.] Pennywise. Haha, how bout Ween.

Facid was at an Ill Repute/Skankin Pickle show. Go figure.
My friends were into Fugazi, Face to face, then some metal here and there. I think i thought Offspring was punk before they made their second album. But around that time i got my first phish cd and, realizing i could never make it in a slam pit, got into more danceable music.

Just tonight i had "shower days" in my head by NOFX. I'm grateful i wised up intime to be into punk before I got out of high school. I know, i know, you're never too old to listen to punk, but you can't beat it for youth music. So much crap out there. Punk epitomizes unleashed energy. Let it run.

Sometimes i wonder if any members of The Slip listened to punk at all. HOw could they not, right?

Obviously, the Clash is the only band that matters.
