is this a fall sampler or a 2004 sampler?

I suggest Holly Would from The Tin Angel-3.3.04

I love SMMD!! But since the purpose of this would be to let new folks hear BAM I think we should probably not use any SMMD stuff. Expessially with Nathan singing. Kind of a different ballgame all together.

Also, if selections are made from thing's I have recorded maybe I can get permission to use matrix versions for this. I don't have matrix's from everything but definitly ICT and 10/30 plus others of course.

that would be key clinton!!!

The only reason I would say to throw some SMMD on there is if they are gonna have a tour again.. or play high sierra again... maybe put it on there as a bonus track or something...

I just want everyone to get an idea of the depth of the slip...
and possibly hush any complaints about SMMD from people that haven't heard them (ala all the diss-cussion last year before the tour...)

Here's a couple:

-Fuji from 2004-11-05... (The Even Rats and Cowboy Up are ridiculous from that show as well...)
-Wolof-> The Shouters from 2004-05-27
-Fear Of Falling from 2004-10-16

should have known you were gonna say fear of falling... :D

Cool.. keep the suggestions coming... once we get a bunch.. we'll write them all down and people can vote for their favorites...
it'll also depend on if clinton can use the matrixes...

I asked about this in the taping section but this thread seems to be getting more attention, anyone know what happened to the slip compilation they were supposed to put out based on the votes we sent in?

soft machine-08.07.2004
nellie>ego tripping-09.15.2004
cut from the cloth-11.05.2004

that brings me to another question. covers included? since its not-for-profit, i'd assume it'd be kosher since BAM would not need to pay royalties.

I asked Sam about it back in like October. It had apparently been shelved, but not forgotten. I don't think anybody's really doing anything with it these days, but I think its still in the back of the mind.

i like the way you think my man. your selections are so dope!

now, if we want to make this compilation a 2004 compilation then we need to find some of the missing shows on tape.

here's the list of known tapes that have actually been collected by someone:

http://db.etree.org/bs_d.php?year=2004&artist_key=91

we should try to fill in gaps so that we can make more educated decisions on how BAM actually did grow during 2004.

Nellie Jean 2/26/00 San Francisco (Last Day Saloon?? I don't remember). I know every note of this one. Down to the guy who screams "Rock and Roll, man!" Love it. Should be on there.

RKBliMelon - I think it's going to be a 2004 compilation... I'm all for a best of compilation, but that would be a whole lot more difficult to put together... Imagine trying to have just one disc of their best material from the past 9 or so years? Next to impossible...

Well, if it's not any trouble... Seriously though, the 2004-05-27 Montreal show is epic, the Evolve set was short but sweet, and the last Canadian run (Toronto-> Hamilton-> Montreal) was off the wall (Hamilton and the second set of Montreal in particular...). Some of that has to make it on to the compilation...
