the best economic bailout plan yet

Post: # 20799Post magpie »

from a circulated email:

Hi Pals,

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bon-a-fide U.S. Citizens 18 and over.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a max tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ would then pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00. What
would your family do with 1/2 million dollars from Uncle Sam? (Only $297,500 if you are single).

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs (maybe even save the auto industry)
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces ... and those on fixed retirement pensions.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18 and over!!

As for AIG - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.

Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion 'We Deserve It Dividend' more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

Kindest personal regards,

" Birk "

T. J. Birkenmeier, Citizen

PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it's either good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85 Billion!!

I don't think the math is right.

$85 billion/200 million adults = $425 per adult not $425,000

out of curiosity:

$700 billion/200 million adults = $3500 per adult

but how's about some health care and education?

*gasp*
no no. that would be socialism.

math is hard

Post: # 20814Post Phrazz »

I like the gist of it, but methinks jokerman Birkenmeier should lay off the haze and invest in a calculator. ;)

Let's take 700 bil bailout plus 85 bil AIG and throw in a few others for a cool trillion. Chump change? Divide by 250 million (350 mil in US now, if you include aliens and visitors) and you get 4,000 bucks per head.

Well, that's a weekend in Hawaii for everyone (even though we'd never fit there).

The other problem is putting more debt into debt to pay it off...we need to put cash...hire people to build roads, bridges, schools...they spend the money and pay taxes. What a fucking plan, right? Worked for FDR, can work for Obama (if he doesn't get shot or they don't rig the election for a third time).

Revolution? Seems to be the only answer otherwise....

P.S.: I'm also glad we can talk about politics here...and I love my anarchist friends!!! 8)

I'm thinking it's the latter and they're definitely preparing for a backlash:

and

They might not even bother trying to rig it. They may pull another false flag op "terrorist attack" and then declare martial law and cancel the election for "our safety."

To put a slight spin on an old saying: If you're not afraid, you're not paying attention.

oh man this is super scary.

These troops will be used to respond to terrorism? after the next plane flies into a building or a bomb blows a building up, we don't have to worry because we'll have guys with guns on the scene in no time.

To help with storms like Katrina? The reason that Katrina went so terribly is because we didn't have a great enough military presence in New Orleans? Do they really expect us to believe that is the case?

i get the terrible feeling that they are preparing for something. they expect civil unrest.
