Haven't checked it yet, heard the single, doesn't do it for me....I never liked Bone THugs, is this album different or is in the same sing-songy rap style?

Check these guys out: http://www.Myspace.com/DemoAndInf

You're either from England or just don't have a clue......The Streets is NOT hip hop. I don't know what the fuck you call that utter crap, but it ain't hip hop. None of those English "grime" "MCs" put out anything worthwile....Dizzy Rascal, The Streets, Lady Sov, etc.......Sov has a few good tracks and is more hip hop than the others, but man do the Streets fucking suck. That guy isn't rapping, he's talking in a thick English accent over crappy DIY electro "beats." Total garbage.

I listen to music and talk to musicians, and a lot of other people, for a living. That said while the Slip are my favourite band in the world the entire Eisenhower album and their whole recorded output doesn't hold a candle to even a single killer hip hop single right now.

This playlist is the best tracks playing in Toronto in Hip Hop clubs and TO's truly international so it's a good sign of what's going on in the world.

http://awolrisk.imeem.com/playlist/E01OOzxX/

1. Give It To Me - Timbaland
2. Hip Hop Is Dead - NAS
3. I Wanna Love You - Akon feat. Snoop Dogg
4. Throw Some D's - Rich Boy
5. Make It Rain - Fat Joe feat. Lil Wayne
6. That's That - Snoop Dogg feat. R. Kelly

I think all these tracks kill. In terms of albums I'd personally say are some of the best of all time definitely The Blueprint and Black Album by Jay Z, Nas Illmatic and Aesop Rock Labor Days. There's lots of others but those are the only perfect albums I'd go to bat for.

Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
Blackstar - Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Blackstar
Latyrx - The Album
Maroons - Ambush
Arrested Development - Zingalamundi
Meshell Ndeogeocello - Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape
Dilated Peoples - The Platform
The Roots - any album

I can't say enough about the Blackstar and Blackalicious albums. Everyone should own a copy.

Totally forgot J Dilla's Ruff Draft which may be the greatest hip hop record ever. Just got rereleased. Dilla died peacefully of Lupus on Feb. 10, 2006.

He had a mansion full of nothing but records and a hummer in the drive.
