All I Saw Was You

Post: # 22291Post Roar! »

I'm trying to figure this song out based on the 12-29-2006 version.

I'm still new to tabbing by ear, so I'm not even sure if I'm right. When I tried If One of Us Should Fall, I had the intro, verse, bridge, and outro right, but I had the chorus totally off.

Anyway, the intro is a variation of a C or G barre chord I think.

I'm certain part of the intro is an arpeggio played on the DGB strings on a C bare.

The chords I have for the verse are

E B (B7 perhaps?) D C

I'm not sure. I think I'm totally off. The effects throw me off all the time.

As for lyrics...they're difficult to hear/take down, especially in that end bit, but if someone wants to run it against the other live version....

I want to see
The Sky
the sky
I try to see
the sky
the sky
For what it is
I look
but all I saw was you
but all I saw was you
All I Saw Was You

I try to hope
to hope
for the girl
I try
to hope
to hope
for the girl
but she
was too beatiful to touch
but all I saw was you
all I felt was you
all I felt was you

I went to bed
my head
my head
I went to bed
my head
my head
Was full
I dance around and I dreamt
but all I dreamt was yours
all I dreamt was yours

And your wants
it hangs I use you
hangs upon myself
with pride
In prose I check myself for hopes (sounds more like dope  )
I give 'em back to you
I give them back to you
I give 'em back to you
I give 'em back to you
I give 'em back
I give 'em back
I give 'em back to you
I give 'em back to you
I give
Now that all that I can do
is look beside you
this distraction
and sing a song
I'll never sing for you

This is what I got:

I tried to see the sky, the sky, for what it is
I looked but I all I saw was you, but all I saw was you...

I tried to hold a girl, a girl, I tried to hold a girl, a girl,
and she was beautiful, we touched
but I all I felt was you and all I held was you

I went to bed, my head, my head,
I went to bed, my head, my head,
Was full of ideas so grand
I dreamt, but I all I dreamt was yours, but I all I dreamt was yours,
? but once the eyes I used to gaze upon myself, with pride
and closed to reject myself it's myself, it's true,
I give them back to you, I give them back to you...

Now all that I can do,
is put these devilish distractions in a song I'l never sing for you

First off, great song

i was playing around the other day and figured it out on accident. I don't have my axe nearby right now, but i will later, and I'll double check, but i think the first parts have the arpeggio loop going, and the chords go

C, C (with 3 fret of B string held down), G, F

give that a try and i will later too.

best of luck! check back l8r
