Fat King of Gods

Post: # 6192Post etahn »

The fat king of gods, the breaker of bones
Owns everything you see for endless miles
And the talk of revolution has vanished under stones
But the mystic see him tremblin' and smiles

Liberty's children build prison on prison
Try to rid us of violence with bombs
But anyone who goes where the wild wind blows
Knows where we'd be without our loving moms

I know that might sound tot dainty but still I'd repeat it
For even the slightest truth cannot be defeated
And it's a far cry at least from the daily deceit
That we play and we play like its stuck on repeat

Peace has no leaders to play it's cards
And peace may play it's own leaders' price
But it's tone will be empty as it flows from the bards
Ringing true like the best tune of advice (tool in the vice?)

Slowly but surely the world revolves
And Grace will be her own resolve
She will dance in every chance loft
Until all of the world's problems are solved

As the capitalist masturbates, dreaming of Rand
And the philsopher wonders what he won't be when he's dead
And the artist asks God to flow from his hands
And the pacifist asks Hitler, "Well, what if I said...?"

And the journalist keeps a day job waving like the seed
Like a parade of princesses down the middle of Main
And the one they locked up for being too free
Will never stop laughing at his ridiculous chains

From the war on this to the war on that
We've spun the frayed fabric of our modern day blues
Born in a rental pried from our neighbor
Our fears and our frights all labelled by hues
By hues...

But what for the child with the dream that comes
That always comes to the innocent heart
The one that says, "We've always done
That which we are about to start"?

Perhaps destiny's too tedious for tongues loud as these
And freedom's to mysterious when you're down on your knees
What's been the downfall of all proud societies?
Who knows the words?
Let's sing it drunkenly!!!

::standard disclaimer about I didn't write it, this is what it sounds like to me, corrections welcome, and yes, I have read Freud::
The world really is magic

Did Freud coin the term "Fat king of Gods" ???

I only add on word. Peace, thet's the last word.. I think. Either that or peas or please. But who drunkenly sings peas? Please on the other hand... No doubt Nathan did this on purpose, that tricky gallahad. But much thanks for the effort, I have always loved this one. Anyone have the lyrics for "To you"? We should get all the Davis tunes started. I've bee so busy lately, but I'll try.

Some ~minor corrections~

Post: # 6796Post Northern Wish »

Which as you stated in your post could be wrong too. I grabbed the lyrics from the HSMF show.

~Venus?~ has no leaders to play it's cards
And peace may ~pay?~ it's own leaders' price
But it's tone will be empty as it flows from the bards
Ringing true like the best tune of advice

Slowly but surely the world revolves
And Grace will be her own resolve
She will dance at every chance ~aloft?~
Until all of the world's problems are solved

And the journalist keeps a day job waving like the ~sea?~
Like a parade of princesses down the middle of Main
And the one they locked up for being too free
Will never stop laughing at his ridiculous chains
