Not as many from this point onwards as the SBD patch and on-stage recording was mostly disallowed 2002 onwards.

That is the name of the song! Also known as Yo Yo My Little Brown-eyed Babushka. When titles are in question I often look at ASCAP: http://www.ascap.com/ace and do a search for Brad Barr… or "Philip Bradford Barr" if you're feeling formal.

Oh! I usually saw it on tapes as My Little Brown Eyed Babushka. I guess I was thinking Yaya Diallo played on it or something. Thanks for clearing that up. Gotta listen.

Source 2: SBD > ? > CD-R > FLAC from John (juanbobo)

10. Flood of Joyful Existence Waters (brief)

12. Get Me With Fuji

* with Emiliano Garcia on tenor sax
# with "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" tease
% Emiliano teased Syeeda's Song Flute, Brad did a quick Wade in the Water, and Marc quoted Mount Temple

Notes:
This is mostly source 5373 (Source 1), but my file set was missing "The Lucky Dragon" and "Times They Are..." Also Mohel had a couple of dropouts.
These tracks were provided from Source 2 (Thanks John!!) which seemed like the same source but had different tracking, different levels, and some fades between tracks.
I adjusted levels, edited in the Source 2 material and re-tracked slightly.

Original Notes:
Dogs on Bikes & Aptos in set 1 each had 1 large pop that came off the Sonic AD2K+. This came from changing the gain adjustments that the taper had made. Not sure why they were on the tapes but they are on my clones and the master dats also. They were removed with cool edit pro.

New Notes:
This is source 1754 with an additional CD-R gen. Sounds great though! Re-tracked slightly.

Original Notes:
There are a few dropouts scattered throughout the show which I removed the dead-air from, most turned out clean and you can't even tell they there to begin with. I believe these came from the digital out off the 16-track recorder. I was the only taper/patcher there, so besides the bands archive, this is the only copy. Thanks again to Sam the tour manager for hooking me up with the patch.

There is wind noise here and there. It was tamed so it won't blow your woofers but it is still audible.
Notes from Ned:
So this was a free performance in Berkeley on a quiet street in front of the record store. About 20-30 of us there and many families walking about. The levels are very low and panned to the left because I fried my V2 the weekend before at High Sierra and the AD 1000 had its gain disengaged internally. Not sure why as it was a borrowed piece of gear. Regardless it was a very cool "special" gig, one that I will remember for a lifetime. As my wife says "It was totaly Berkeley". No other tapers, never traded.

Der Rathskeller, University of Wisconsin - Madison, Madison, WI

Source: SONY ECM-MS907 > SONY D7 DAT > Cool Edit Pro > CD

Disc 1
Soundcheck (The Terrace):
1. Marry Mary Shelly
Show (Der Rathskeller):
2. Nardis (with "You Might Say" ending)
3. Nellie Jean >
4. Aptos
5. Mr. Meowskers
6. Spice Groove > Family Affair jam *

Disc 2

3. 74 **
4. Dogs on Bikes
Encore:
5. If One of Us Should Fall

* The Mary J. Blige tune, NOT Sly & the Family Stone!
** First time played.

Original notes:
Mic located FOB approx 15 feet from stage for soundcheck (outdoors) Soundcheck was out of amps & monitors only, so levels during d1t01 were boosted with Cool Edit Processing tools - causing some hiss during the banter at the end.
Mic located on stage during show (moved indoors) Levels change a bit at beginning while mic was positioned between Brad & Marc's amps. There is a bit of distortion because the volume was SO loud on stage due to no PA system.

From Slipbase:
Show was scheduled for The Terrace which is outside. A soundcheck (Mary Mary Shelly) was even done out there in front of a crowd. The bad weather came and it was moved indoors to Der Rathskeller. The hired sound company didn't move the gear in. Ther show started with no PA but one was eventually put together with school equiptment.

Original Notes:
There are some dropouts (my d8 was giving up the ghost, it died a month later; many of my fall '02 recordings are flawed)

Notes:
This is a tagged and slightly re-tracked version of the original file set.
There is one big dropout in Built for Zeal, I cleaned it up a bit and faded in and out but you can still hear a bit of diginoise on either end.
Also there is a brief dropout at the beginning of Yaki Soba. Otherwise it seems clean and is a nice recording!

Notes:
This is a tagged transcode of verified SHN files I got from Jason Booth, who didn't know the source info.
I'd guess it is a SBD Matrix as it is very crisp and has good channel separation. Also after "Dogs on Bikes" you can hear the house music come up, and then the audience fade out. Fuji may be audience-only.
Show may not be complete, there were gaps between some tracks and some fades/cuts which I cleaned up a bit. It seems like it is mussing "Run River Run" at least according to SlipBase and I'm not entirely sure "Planet of Inexperience" should be where it is.
Overall it is a great sounding recording of a very interesting show!

I had let Brian use my DAT recorder to patch from Chris. I used a Mac Laptop rig at this show. I recorded to an external hard drive. I think the show went a little long. Just a couple of moments after the set ended the house staff shut off the power to the sound equipment. This is where I was plugged in. My laptop was saving the session and the loss of power corrupted my whole recording. Luckily Chris was there and this sounds pretty damn good.

Original Notes:
The Slip put on a good show and despite the goth rocker show going on next door that you can acutally hear in the recording during the quieter passages. A good time was had by all.
I also got to test out a new piece of equipment, the Lunatec V3 pre/amp and A/D converter. This thing rocks, the highs are just so clear and crisp, just listen to the cymbals and high hat during the show.

Notes:
I think this may have a CD-R generation in it. I re-tracked and cleaned up some pops and between track issues.

13. banter
14. The Soft Machine > (instrumental)

It seems the first 7 tracks were heavily limited and brickwalled and there are some significant level adjustments at several points (mostly between tracks.)
I did a number of gain adjustments to keep levels a bit more consistent. It's far from perfect but hopefully a bit more listenable.

Original Notes (From SlipBase):
Before the encore, road manager Tim brought out an old TV with the word "Obey" spray-painted on it. Brad used it as a stool during the main part of the song but during the outtro he grabbed a safety mask and sledgehammer and demolished it. It was a rather entertaining (but somewhat frightening) sight!
