this is the way the voting will go... you will look through the list of nominations and rank them 1-10 accordingly..
1&2 = 5pts
3&4 = 4pts
5&6 = 3pts
7&8 = 2pts
9&10 = 1pts

Top 10 highest scoring tracks will make the comp (and depending it might be 1 or 2 disks)... now.. can anyone set anything up that we can either download these specific tracks or listen to them online?? Once that option gets set up.. we will start the voting... There were a lot less tracks nominated this year (and some that I don't know if recordings of them exist) so this should make the process much easier.... Also.. if any of you wanna anti up and try to do cover work for the cd now would be a good time to start it... Thanks!
Let me know if there are any questions...

diesel, I've been holding on to this idea that you actually aren't the world's supreme retard with the worst taste in music anyone's seen since the rise of Burt Bacharach, but you have now successfully removed any doubt I had in my mind.

Whine (!) and White Soda is the best new tune of '05. Of course, there's only like two new tunes from '05, but hey, it's hard. And that's more tunes than I wrote last year, so...

Really though, get your head out of your ass. The only thing blowing during that tune is the wind - in one of your ears and out the other.

Now there's some constructive input. <end sarcasm.> Not that I necessarily think it'd be high on my list either, but I've only heard it a few times.

In fact, I probably haven't heard a bunch of these specific tracks. I don't have too much from '05, maybe 3 or 4 shows. Anyone have some of these tracks to share, or should I vote based on what I've heard?

i never really gave that song much attention until i got 11.23.05 (smmd) stuck in my cd player - the version from that night has pretty much turned me onto it - cant quite put my finger on why exactly, except that its pretty catchy, the lyrics roll nicely, and it's just fun, whether drunk, stoned, or sober.

Okay, gloves off, the gauntlet is thrown. First one to say 'uncle' gets mad noogies and has to buy the other guy a beer at next meeting (assuming one of us will deign to visit the other's hometown) (or maybe we both go to New York).

diesel wrote:so i said this song sucks (and it does), so my taste in music is shit because of it?
No, no, you've got it all backwards. Your taste in music doesn't suck because you don't like the song. Your taste in music sucks because you're a fuckwit. You said the song sucks because your taste in music sucks. Clear enough?

Incidentally, I have composed a short monograph on the subject entitled "The Fuckwit Inside : Why Otherwise Cool People Opt to Listen to Crappy Bands Like Lake Trout, and Dis Great Tunes Like Wine and White Soda". It's due to be published as a companion to the upcoming Slip album, and as such, may never see the light of day.

A) It's catchy
B) It's in a key Brad can sing in
C) It mentions drinking
D) It mentions Spain
E) It mentions drinking in Spain
F) It's in a key Brad can sing in
G) The words "My home in sweet Rhode Island"
H) The thing where Andrew hits the snare on the 'and' of 2 and 4, rather than on two and four
I) It's in a key Brad can sing in
J) The world needs more riff-rock, and this is it
K) If ever there was a radio hit for BAM, this is it (Melina, too)

And for the record - this is fact, baby. Opinions are for the weak.
