Does anyone happen to have a good recording of the 2002-12-30 show with the Howling Monkey horns? I was thinking of posting it, but I don't have any information on the source of my copy, and it seems like it might be a second-generation recording (there are some DAE errors here and there, even thoug...

I posted the FLAC files for five more shows today at http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/flac/index.htm , and am currently uploading MP3's of the shows, which will be available at http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/mp3/index.htm in a day or two. They are older shows than the last batch, most of which wer...

For simply recording audio, I use the line-in sampling feature in Audiograbber: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/. I'm sure it's not the greatest application for the job, but it's fairly easy to use and free.

Video is a whole big bag o' worms.

Nice interview, I especially like her policy on describing the new album. I've been listening to The Reminder for a few days now, and it just keeps growing on me. It's certainly tighter than Let It Die, with all but a couple songs being instantly catchy. And that voice is just ... wow.

Reggae Cowboys?

I just stumbled across a Canadian group called The Reggae Cowboys: http://www.reggaecowboys.com/, and noticed that they're playing near me at the end of the month. They seem to have a really cool mixture of Reggae/Jazz/Blues. Has anyone seen them live?

I have to use IE on my laptop, ... when it finished, it didn't show up, and searching for yielded nothing. any ideas? IE saves downloaded files to a temporary file first, (which probably has a meaningless name like "oeifjawe9ew92", and could be located anywhere in the Temporary Internet F...

Oops - thanks for catching that. It is definitely the April 2nd 2004 show, I just misnamed the folder.

And you're right, Sorry > With or Without You kicks some serious monkey butt.

A few shows for the Torrentless

For what it's worth, (and for as long as my server will hold out), I've got a few of my favorite shows posted at: http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/ I'll be posting a few other shows as I get a chance. theSlip2004-04-02 theSlip2006-03-31 theSlip2007-03-15 theSlip2007-03-18 ---------- June 21st update...

My three favorite authors are now all dead.

Richard Brautigan shot himself.
Douglas Adams died way too early of a heart attack.

At least Vonnegut made it to 84. We've lost one of our great spokespersons for basic human decency.

what's this three-legged mule business? is this a slip shirt? http://linux.zeta2.com/~asylum/slip/threeleg.jpg Maybe it's a mule, perhaps it's a horse. It's definitely a shirt. Here's the back of the hoodie: http://linux.zeta2.com/~asylum/slip/hoodieback.jpg and here's the small graphic from the fr...

Do whatever you can to get the hoodie. Its pretty damn cool. Are those the grey ones with some sort of four-legged creature? a horse or mule or something. anyway i saw them at Langerado, i thought they were sort of ugly to be honest, i'll stick with my bright yellow llama t-shirt. The three-legged m...

Awesome!

Would anyone be willing to do a B&P? Bittorrent is disabled on my campus network, and I'd really like to get a copy of this show.

Thanks

What a fun show. It's a shame that so few people showed up, but I guess that was to be expected as it was the day after St. Patrick's day and most people were still sleeping off their hangovers. Hopefully the next time The Slip come to Pittsburgh there will at least be enough people for inflatable a...

Peanut Butter and Apples

The Slip are going to play the Rex Theatre again! Their last concert at the Rex included Brad playing a guitar with an apple*, and the distribution of a jar of peanut butter to the first person who knew where the world's largest ball of twine was on display. I hope they take this opportunity to inco...
