i've been reading T.C Boyle's stuff lately. Excellent, if not a little doomsy/doomsish! Drop City is the first one I read, about a commune in north cali that moves to alaska. so so good. i couldn't put it down. right now the one i'm about to finish is Tortilla Soup i think. also, the Inner Circle is...

i'm curious.

Elvis Perkins

hey guys,

i just wanted to tell you about Elvis Perkins. he's a friend and coincidentally, he just got a 2-week opening slot for My Morning Jacket in march. i think you'll like the music. he has a very interesting and sad background.

i don't think they are dissing the fans by saying they don't like the term "jamband". they slip have always loved their fans and showed respect/gratitude by mingling in the audience after the shows. they've always been gracious to the people who support them. disliking the label is a total...

over-produced could imply many things. examples: 1. too many parts to the arrangement, too many extras, too many frills. 2. over-compressed, which is flattening out the levels making it less dynamic. 3. highly-polished sound as opposed to a more live, raw sound. 4. a very predictable, stale arrangem...
